Introducing New Chair; Restructure For Norfolk Tennis

James Buddell has been elected as Chair of Norfolk Tennis, following a Council Meeting on 25 June. The County wishes to thank Ian Quinton OBE for all his hard work in leading the management committee from June 2022 until last month.

James has worked for ATP Tour since 2005, specialising in communications, marketing and media rights; establishing key trusted relationships with elite athletes, tournaments and representatives. He was previously Head of Tennis at Eurosport, where he successfully led the sport’s coverage and integration of Europe’s first 24-hour sports news channel, digital and production staff.

James has been involved in tennis for 40 years as a player, coach and official. He was formerly Chair of one of the biggest multi-sport club’s in Kent, home to a pre-Wimbledon professional tournament and 2,200 members, and, since 2018, as Chair of North Elmham Tennis Club in Norfolk.

Maddie Brooks, who recently won two ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour events, is Norfolk Tennis’ new Social Media Officer. If any club/venue, coach, player or parent wishes to promote an event or recognise junior or senior achievement, send your photos and brief text to Maddie on socialmedia@norfolktennis.org.

Stuart Silvester, the Admin and Communications Officer, is your point of contact for all website and newsletter additions. He can be contacted on news@norfolktennis.org.

Kay Skelton, the Sponsorship & Funding Officer, is actively looking for companies and individuals to join the county’s Partner Scheme. If you have any leads or wish to help grow Norfolk Tennis, contact her on sponsorshipfunding@norfolktennis.org.

The County is also interested in those who wish to join the Norfolk LTA Awards Committee; a sub-group for our inclusive tennis programme, and a representative that can provide an essential link to club/venues committees.

Finally, Norfolk Tennis would like to build out the number of Council representatives. If you’re a club/venue member, who wants to get more involved in decision making across the County, please get in touch with Honorary Secretary Liz Gill.
