The penultimate highlight of the day was a truly special exhibition match, with two of our top club players partnering the professionals in what proved to be a doubles contest to remember. Kath Wilson and Danny Sapsford faced off against Tom Griffith and Lucie Ahl in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd.

It was a thrilling encounter from start to finish, with spectators cheering and applauding every fiercely contested rally. The match could easily have gone either way, and at one point Tom even tested the strength of the fence as he leapt for a high shot—much to the crowd’s delight.

In the end, Tom and Lucie edged the match 6–4, but it hardly mattered. Everyone felt like a winner. The opportunity to share the court with players of such calibre is a rare privilege, and this was undoubtedly a match that will live long in the memory.
