How to find us
St Ives Tennis Club
Primrose Valley, Porthminster Beach
EXCITING TIMES at St Ives Tennis Club with membership booming since the September 2020 opening of our new synthetic clay courts.
The completion of the £100,000 re-development project - jointly funded by the club and Sport England's Community Asset Fund - saw us become the first club in Cornwall to have artificial clay.
MEMBERSHIP: Come and play on our new courts. St Ives Tennis Club is currently accepting new members with membership free for the 10 and unders.
This year we have also introduced free Saturday coaching for improvers - an hour with our coach Colin Stringer plus an hour to play together sttraight afterwards and hone your newly-learned skills.
Tennis, fun, sun and friendship - what more could you ask for? We can't promise the sun but you're guaranteed the other three at the tennis club with the most beautiful outlook anywhere. Well, most people who play here say that!
Located just above Porthminster Beach, our two new artificial clay all-weather courts are used throughout the year.
PAY AND PLAY: Visitors are welcome on a pay-and-play basis from Monday to Friday and courts can be reserved via the Booking link on this website with a credit or debit card. Weekends are reserved for members, league matches and junior coaching and, sorry, we don't hire out rackets.
We have no parking at the club but there may be some spaces on the nearby station car park and there is a walk-through at the back of the platform.
With the aid of a grant from Sport England, our new clubhouse was completed in 2013 and we can now welcome players with disabilities.
The latest arrival at the club is a portable floodlight system, giving us more playing and coaching time. See more on the Membership page.
AND MORE . . . If you need more information about our club contact us and we'll be happy to help. Any queries, click on "More" on the bar above, then "Contacts" and you should find who you need to email or call.
KIDS CAMP RETURNED FOR EASTER: Coach Colin Stringer once again ran his popular Kids Camp over Easter this year and there will be more Kids Camp Tennis over the summer. Look out for details.
2021 saw Colin launch his fully-subscribed Kids Camp followed by midweek After School Tennis sessions and he also organised popular adult beginner/improver sessions. More courses for 2022 will be announced soon and, in the meantime, the Saturday junior sessions are continuing.
