When are the Courts open?

Our tennis courts are open each day from 7.00am to 9.00 pm except for the following courts: Coronation Recreation Ground, Elmgrove Recreation Ground and Churchfields Recreation Ground. Please note: Some courts may be booked for coaching, club activity, events, or maintenance.  

 

How do I purchase an Elmbridge Play Tennis Pass?  

  1. Visit Tennis in Elmbridge webpage and select the membership tab. Select “join now” on the Play Tennis Pass   
  2. Register your details along with any family member’s details you wish to add (up to 4 additional members) 
  3. Go back to Tennis in Elmbridge webpage and select Book a Court tab 
  4. Select which site you would like to play on and select your time. You can select how long you want to play for by the drop-down box in the top right-hand corner. 
  5. You will receive a confirmation email from Clubspark with your 4-digit pin code. Enter this code at the gate to start your booking 

 

Do I have to be a resident of Elmbridge to join?

No, anyone can join.

 

I only want to play once or twice, what can I do? 

We offer Pay & Play tennis charged at £5 per hour per court. Simply register with ClubSpark, book and pay for your court (max 2 hours per day) and enter your PIN code at the gate on arrival. 

 

Do I have to pay for a Play Tennis Pass for each person in the household? 

No. You only have one membership per household, that any member of the household can use to access the courts (5 members per pass). 

 

How do I add members of my household to my account?

Go to your account, member info and click add member, then just enter their name/email address. If you have any problems, please email us at parkstennis@elmbridge.gov.uk and we can help you with this. 

 

Once I have a Play Tennis pass do I still have to pay court fees?

No, once you have paid for the annual pass there is no additional court booking charges.

 

Once I have a Play Tennis annual pass do I have to book the courts that I want to use? 

Yes, you will still need to book the tennis courts using the online booking system, on the basis that they are available. 

 

Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?

Once you have booked your court you will receive your booking confirmation. Your booking confirmation will include a PIN which you can then enter into the keypad at the gate. Your PIN will be the same every time that you make a booking (the PIN will be active 15 minutes before the booked session, throughout the booked session and then until 5 minutes after the booked session has ended). 

 

Do I need a PIN code for every parks tennis venue?

Yes, with the exception of West End Rec

 

What do I do if my PIN doesn't work?

Firstly, please check that you are within the timeframe that the PIN is active. If you are, please call the telephone number that is on your booking confirmation and you will be provided with an alternative PIN for that booking.

 

Is coaching available?

Yes. Please refer to our Coaching page for more information.

 

Can I purchase a Play Tennis Pass for coaching purposes or for non-tennis activities? 

The Play Tennis Pass and Pay and Play option is not for the delivery or receipt of tennis coaching or non-tennis activities. You will require either a Coaching Pass/Package or General Hire Pass

If you are interested in delivering or receiving coaching services, please refer to the information listed on our coaching page. Only licensed professional coaches appointed by Elmbridge Borough Council are authorised to deliver coaching activities on the courts.   

 

If I have purchased a Play Tennis Pass, am I tied into a contract? 

No, you initially pay for a 1 year's membership and if you want to carry on using the courts after that you can renew your membership otherwise you can let the pass lapse if you do not wish to continue.  

 

If I have a Play Tennis Pass when does it start? 

The membership will be activated when you register your email address and create a password for a booking account online. 

 

Are there any memberships or activities available for local community groups, businesses, and schools? 

There are coached tennis sessions and programmes available. Please visit our coaching page or email parkstennis@elmbridge.gov.uk for further information. 

 

Once I have joined can I relinquish part way through my year? 

No, once you have joined the annual this will last a year, there is no full or part refunds.

 

Can I hire equipment?

Unfortunately, we do not offer that facility.

 

How do I cancel a booking?

You can cancel your booking online through your members area once logged in (top right-hand corner). If you have any problems, please give us a call on 01372 474 474 during office hours (Mon- Fri 9am-5pm). Out of courtesy please cancel as soon as you know so others have the opportunity to play. 

 

What happens if I do not cancel my booking?

We will be checking no shows on a regular basis and have the right to cancel any memberships who have incurred a total of 3 no shows or 2 warnings without refund.

 

Is there a refund window for Pay & Play?

Yes, the refund window ends 1 hour before your booking. Please cancel your booking before the refund window ends to receive the refund.

 

What happens if the Council has to close the courts for events, court works, Government advice, etc

The Council will notify players of the courts have to be closed through the ClubSpark membership list and social media channels.

Any players found trying to access or using the courts when they are closed will have their passes, memberships and bookings cancelled without refund.

 

How do I report a safeguarding issue?

If I see damage to the courts or anti-social behaviour who should I tell?

If you notice the courts are damaged or unsafe please contact us on 01372 474 474 or parkstennis@elmbridge.gov.uk with photos so we can investigate and arrange repairs. 

If you witness anti-social behaviour on courts from users that is not in keeping with those set out in the terms and conditions, please also report this on the number above so users can be addressed, and appropriate action taken. 

If you have a problem with anti-social behaviour outside office hours, then please call 101 or 999 if its n emergency.
