How to Book a Court and Charges

• Click the ‘Tennis at Southwark venues’ link on the top right of this page and select your preferred venue. Please note that courts must only be booked for tennis play - coaching is only delivered by our coaching contractors and not arranged independently, this is against our terms of use and could end up with your booking entitlement cancelled. • Register an account on ClubSpark or login if you have one, select an available date and time to book.  Please note that individuals are only allowed one account.  Click here,  on how to create a pay and play free Tennis in Southwark ClubSpark membership. 

• Bookers will be provided with an access code on the booking confirmation – this code is for the electronic gate keypad to gain entry to the courts (check email spam folder). Please note that the code will not work until 10 minutes before your booking time. A guide on how to use the gates can be found here

A resident of Southwark under 18 years or with a Disability can get a 'Free Play' membership. This will enable them to book once a day for 30 minutes with no charge. Get more information on our tennis memberships and concessions

• Checking the booking on the calendar, printing your booking confirmation or having it on your mobile phone is helpful proof when attending the venue.

• Bookings can be made 7 days in advance of the day of booking. The next day of court bookings will be released at 8pm in the evening.

• Individuals can only book a court for 1 hour or 30 minutes each day, and are restricted to one booking per day.

• If you don’t have internet access you can use a computer at a local library to book. If you can’t use the booking website / ClubSpark Booker app or visit a library, ring 020 7525 5000 for further help.

 

Cancellations, Refund and Credits

Cancellation by the Hirer:

  • If after making a booking you find that you are no longer able to play, please cancel your booking so that others may use the courts. 
  • In order to receive an automatic full refund, courts must be cancelled 4 hours or more before the booking begins.
  • If you intend to play but it is not possible for an unforeseen reason such as inclement weather, a request can be made to credit the booking back to your account via sports@southwark.gov.uk  This must be done within 5 days of the booking day. When contacting the email above for a credit you will need to provide information about your booking; reason you couldn’t play, court date / time, location, and court number. This request must come from the person that has made the booking.

Refunds and Credits

  • Where credits are issued to a booker, it will be made available for up to 28 days after the booking that is being credited. Credits not used in the period of time will expire and are no longer valid.
  • Customers requesting credits must provide details of the reason the court could not be used with the court date / time, location, and court number. 
  • Refunds and credits are given at the discretion of the Council.
  • No refunds will be given on membership fees after one month of the membership being activated unless there are exceptional circumstances and is at the discretion of the Council.
  • No part session credits will be issued.
  • If you cancel a booking that you have used your credit with, the credit will not automatically reimburse the booker with the credit. You will need to contact the Southwark Sport Team to reimburse the credit if the cancellation falls within our policy.

  • The Council will not be liable for any other expenditure incurred or loss sustained by the hirer arising from cancellation.

Credits will be available automatically when you’re at ‘Checkout’. You’ll able to choose if you want to use your credit on your purchase or save them for another time.

Cancellation by the Council:

  • The Council reserve the right to refuse, cancel or change any booking or event at any time prior to its commencement and to refuse admission to the courts. Where possible an email will be sent to the member notifying them of this.
  • The Council’s reserves the right to pre-book the courts at will – including the purpose of coaching, events, or maintenance.
  • In the case of the Council cancelling a person’s booking, it shall issue a refund or credit you the full price.
  • The Council’s shall not be responsible for any extra costs incurred as a result of a cancelled or rescheduled booking.
  • There is no entitlement to a refund where the Council is forced to cancel part or all of an event beyond our reasonable control. However, refunds may be given at the Councils discretion.

Any coaching on park courts not provided by our coach contractors (NTA and Vamos) are breaking the court booking terms of use, and if the court booker (whether the coach or the coachee) continues after having received a warning in writing will find their payments blocked on Clubspark and user profile deleted. The booking entitlement will be blocked for a 6 month period.
