After a busy summer of tournaments and competitive matches for both juniors and adults we usually enter a quieter period of time, however, the milder weather has meant the courts have  been busy with well-attended club nights, singles' boxes matches and junior matches.  We have a lot to look forward to in coming months but it's worth reflecting a moment on all that has happened since April.
Firstly, junior membership has shot up to 56 and we have to thank Dan Sizer for driving this with juniors spreading the word about how great the coaching sessions are as well as Dan's links with Wellington School. Thank you, Dan.
Sue Rackley was busy coordinating the 14U and 17U teams as well as fielding teams for the local Red/Orange tournaments hosted by Wiveliscombe, Trull and us. Congratulations to all players especially 17U team as they came a respectable 3rd, one point behind Wiveliscombe. Jonathan Thorne won all his Red/Orange matches so helping Wellington come first in all 3 tournaments. Congratulations to all who played as you helped WTC gain first place in the Somerset LTA incentive for regularly competing juniors and we were awarded £775!
Juniors who played: Sam Ogilvie, Will Mitchell, Lydia Mitchell, Georgie Simms, Anna Kennedy, Joel Griffiths, Barney Crocombe, Amelia Crocombe, Harry Stafford, Oliver Kennedy, Tom Simms, Peter Thorne, Dan Thorne, Ben Wardell, Cameron Forrest, Patrick Smith, Reuben Donnolly, Jonathan Thorne, Aidan Eldridge, Tabitha Rickard, Molly Rickard, Freya Raybould, Megan Barrett, Bella Slade, Naomi Southcott, Oliver Southcott, Madison Boutcha.

LEAGUE MATCHES
We entered 3 teams in the Somerset Summer League and despite some hiccups with fielding a team for the 'A' team at the start of the season they remain in Division 2; 'B' finished second, narrowly missing promotion to Division 3, and 'C' team remain in Division 5.
We have entered one team in the challenging winter league and so far the team has had 2 draws and one win.

CLUBHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS
Due to the growing numbers of juniors,  the need to create more space inside was achieved by removing a partition wall. The committee aims to use the Persimmon Homes award for £1000 to buy new furniture, a fridge and cooker.  Everyone has been very positive about the changes.
CHRISTMAS DINNER : Friday 18th December 7pm @ The Blackbird Inn. There are still a few spaces left so let me know if you'd like to come.
WINTER TOURNAMENTS
Junior matches are still continuing and we have hosted a 14U, Woodland TC a 17U and Trull TC has a 12U on 14/11/15. We have also played a friendly match against Stoke St Gregory TC as well.
We hope to host a Davis Cup' tournament at the end of the month and a Christmas tournament on 27th December.
