 Table Tennis Coaches:

Mark Griffin

Mark has enjoyed table tennis since the age of 11. As a junior he represented Bradford and Yorkshire. He is still playing competitively in leagues in Yorkshire, and National competitions, achieving numerous successes in his career. Mark has experience of coaching on a 1-1 as well as groups sessions with children and adults of mixed ability, from beginners to league standard. He has achieved Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications with Table Tennis England. He was coached by nationally accredited coaches who have coached international athletes and this has enabled him to develop recognised and approved techniques and match play. He is currently coaching in Keighley and Skipton. He holds current DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid. He works as a Safeguarding consultant and also enjoys cycling. Bob Moffat

Bob, as well as playing, has been very active facilitating Club Set ups in the area (Rainton TTC and Bishop Monkton Junior TTC) and he coaches at Nidderdale High School and some junior schools. He works with Table Tennis England as part of their Team United Strategy (all about Active Participation) and is a member of their Local Organising Group(LOG) working with Lauren Evans, North East/Yorkshire Area Manager. 

George Chan

George was Head Table Tennis Coach at Harrogate Racquets Club  2011- 2024  and built up the Junior section from scratch. George now coaches a Parkinson's group at the Club and offers private coaching.

He is currently a UKCC level 2 table tennis coach and coaches both penholders and traditional shakehand styles.

Dale Ward level 1  qualified coach. Dale supports our junior programmes and the junior teams in the Harrogate Table Tennis League.

Sarah Jackson

Not only is Sarah chair of the table tennis section but Sarah has spent most of her life....playing table tennis too ;). She is very proud of her title of British Universities Sports Federation Champion and has represented her county of Lancashire.

She is a level 1 UKCC qualified coach and helps out with many of our sessions. 

The Table Tennis section of the Harrogate Racquets Club is a Registered Table Tennis England Premier Club.
