Conduct and Behaviour Policy

Baseline Edge Ltd – Participant Conduct & Behaviour Policy Version 1.0 - May 2026

Baseline Edge is committed to providing a safe, positive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all participants. This policy outlines the standards of behaviour expected during sessions and the procedures followed when behaviour becomes disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all participants can enjoy and benefit from sessions in a safe, focused, and supportive environment. Coaches and staff are responsible for maintaining appropriate standards of conduct and managing behaviour fairly and consistently.

Expected Standards of Behaviour

  • Listen to and follow coaching instructions
  • Treat coaches, staff, and fellow participants respectfully
  • Participate positively and cooperatively
  • Avoid behaviour that disrupts sessions for others
  • Use appropriate language and conduct
  • Respect equipment, facilities, and venue rules
  • Maintain safe behaviour at all times

Unacceptable Behaviour

  • Repeatedly ignoring coaching instructions
  • Disrupting activities or distracting other participants
  • Refusing to cooperate during drills or activities
  • Excessive shouting, arguing, or inappropriate language
  • Aggressive, intimidating, or unsafe behaviour
  • Deliberately preventing others from participating effectively
  • Behaviour that negatively impacts the discipline, focus, or enjoyment of the group

Behaviour Management Process

Stage 1 – Verbal Reminder

The participant will receive a clear verbal reminder regarding expected behaviour and an opportunity to correct it.

Stage 2 – Formal Warning

If behaviour continues, the participant will receive a formal warning during the session. Parents or guardians may also be informed after the session where appropriate. The participant will be clearly informed what behaviour is unacceptable, what improvement is expected, and that continued disruption may result in removal from the session.

Stage 3 – Temporary Removal from Activity

If behaviour remains disruptive or unsafe, the participant may be asked to sit out temporarily for part of the session to allow the group to continue effectively. Parents or guardians may be contacted where necessary.

Stage 4 – Removal from Session

Where behaviour continues despite warnings, or where behaviour seriously affects the safety, discipline, or wellbeing of others, the participant may be asked to leave the session.

For junior participants:

  •  A parent or guardian will be contacted
  • The participant will remain supervised until collected where necessary
  • The incident may be documented

Ongoing or Serious Behaviour Concerns

Repeated incidents or serious misconduct may result in a formal meeting with parents or guardians, temporary suspension from sessions, or permanent removal from the programme where behaviour does not improve.

Parent/Guardian Support

Parents and guardians are expected to support the coaching team in maintaining appropriate behaviour standards and reinforcing respectful conduct. Open communication is encouraged to help participants succeed within the programme environment.

Right to Refuse Participation

Baseline Edge reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation where a participant’s behaviour consistently disrupts sessions, compromises safety, or negatively affects the experience of others.

Ongoing or Serious Behaviour Concerns

Baseline Edge Ltd reserves the right to remove a participant from sessions where behaviour is repeatedly disruptive, unsafe, or negatively impacts the experience of others. The welfare, safety, and positive experience of the wider group will always remain a priority.

Any refund for remaining sessions following removal from the programme will be considered at the discretion of the Head Coach and may be issued on a pro-rata basis where appropriate.
