Winter wreathmaking workshop
SATURDAY 23rd NOVEMBER, 2-4.30pm IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Come along and learn how to make a winter wreath for your home, or for a gift. Our very own green fingered expert, Jenny Poulter, has kindly volunteered to share her knowledge, and Liz Drew will be your host for the event.
- Members only event as places are limited to the first 15 people to apply (to be fair to all members, we can't accept block bookings for places and will need confirmed names for places please) - Contact bttcsocialandevents@gmail.com ... this event will sell out ... please be quick to avoid disappointment - deadline for responses is Saturday 2nd Nov.
- ONLY £20 including free tea / coffee, mulled wine and chocolates...not only a fun event, but you will end-up with a fantastic wreath that would cost at least twice as much in the shops.
- Bring your own evergreen foliage from your garden; local park; hedgerows (e.g. holly, ivy, fir, winter berries, eucalyptus, rosemary, thyme, etc) and anything else you would like in your wreath; also bring secateurs / garden scissors; and also bring a metal coat hanger or similar breadth / length metal wire.
- wreath accessories and lights will be provided.
Festive Carols and Drinks
SUNDAY 15th DECEMBER, FROM 12pm IN THE CLUBHOUSE
We will be hosting our year end festive carols and drinks party on Sunday 15th December, starting at 12 noon in the clubhouse. The Holy Cross choir will be singing carols from 12pm for c.40minutes, and we are hoping for as many of the audience to join in and enjoy the singing experience. Mulled wine will be available from 12pm to loosen our vocal cords, and once we have enjoyed our singing, there will be home made sausage rolls and mince pies as a reward for our efforts…the bar will be open as usual, but please be respectful of the choristers whilst they are singing. This event is always a fun and festive occasion and a great opportunity for new members to meet other members - everyone is welcome. Please put the date in your diary - we look forward to seeing you.
Ecumenical Ladies Lunch Club
MONDAY 10th FEBRUARY, 11.30am-3.00pm IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Members please note that the main clubroom and kitchen will be unavailable to members during these times.
Maintenance morning
DATES IN MAY, JUNE AND SEPTEMBER TO BE CONFIRMED, 9am-12 noon
To help keep running costs of the club down we welcome all volunteers. We all 'muck in' and you can meet old and new friends. Whether you're a keen D.I.Y.er or a Professional Bodger we have small jobs for everyone, such as weeding, painting and hedge trimming (to name but a few) in order to keep the Clubhouse and Grounds in a good state of repair. If you are able to come along and help please could you contact David Paine. Please bring with you your own work gloves. We are particularly interested in anyone who has a tow bar as one of the jobs will be emptying the trailer at the back of the clubhouse to the nearest bottle bank. Some lunch and a drink will be provided to all volunteers.
