Mixed Singles Box Leagues
Ongoing throughout the summer and winter
The Mixed Singles Box Leagues offers a great opportunity to play competitively with different people within the club, whilst meeting new club players. The focus is on ‘competitive fun’ at multiple levels of tennis playing ability. With several small leagues, finding different people to play against who are at a similar level is incredibly easy. The more matches you win the higher you go; this will help your growth as a tennis player as you progress through the leagues.
The box league is a friendly competition intended to encourage members to enjoy singles matches. It costs £10 per year to play all four seasons. Prizes are awarded to Division Winners, and while players are under no obligation to play all their matches, we encourage them to play as many as possible. It's run by the club and is connected to the LTA in so much that your results will be logged towards your tennis ratings and rankings if you have an LTA profile.
Entry is available for Bearsted & Thurnham Lawn Tennis Club members only. If you wish to be included in the box league, please contact Gavin Oberholzer (gavoberholzer@outlook.com) or go to our events page and register online. Late entries are possible but will be added to the bottom box.
• Players compete in their own time and arrange their own matches throughout each season.
• Suitable for players of all standards
• Provides competitive opportunities for people that may not have regular people to play against
• The singles ladder is all inclusive and we welcome all ages, abilities and both male and female players.
Matches can be arranged via the box WhatsApp groups or private messaging and you can share scores for fun on the main WhatsApp group and official results are posted online by the winning player in each match.
Everyone is very welcome so please join us!
