MTA at Bearsted & Thurnham
Bearsted & Thurnham LTC has a coaching partnership with Maidstone Tennis Academy (MTA) and the junior coaching in particular has gone from strength to strength. Working with MTA, we have both adult and junior coaching programmes throughout the year to provide coaching for people of all ages and standards of play.
MTA offer a FREE ASSESSMENT session for anyone thinking about having coaching. Non-members can also have coaching for a 6 week period to improve their play before joining the club and making the most of the facilities and opportunities on offer.
Coach Bookings from July 2023
Our coaches Adrian, Alex, Carl and Jack are available for booking during the time slots shown below. When pre-allocated courts are not required the coaches will inform the Club Captain as soon as possible so that the courts can be released for members to book.
COURT ALLOCATIONS FOR COACHING (Adults & Juniors)
Monday: 8am to 1pm (Court 1), 4pm to 6pm (Court 1) & 7pm to 9pm (Court 1)
Tuesday: 7pm to 8pm (Courts 2 & 3)
Wednesday: 11am to 3pm (Court 1)
Thursday: 7pm to 9pm (Court 1)
Friday: 4pm to 9pm (Courts 4 & 5), 6pm to 7pm (Court 1), 7pm to 9pm (Courts 4 & 5)
Saturday: 8am - 1pm (Court 1)
Sunday: None
BEGINNERS & IMPROVERS:
6-week Coaching Courses for Beginners & Improvers - Friday evenings 7-9pm (Courts 4&5)
These 6-week courses are available for members and non-members.
The cost for the courses is £54 to members and £72 for non-members, plus £1 for floodlights if used.
If a non-member becomes a member after completing the course, £18 will be deducted from the membership fee. If any sessions are cancelled due to bad weather, they will be added at the end.
Rusty Rackets - Tuesdays 7pm to 8pm (Courts 2 & 3)
The cost will be £54 for 6 weeks for 6 players and the coach is our Head Coach, Adrian. If floodlights are used an additional £1 to be paid to the Coach.
It is also possible to attend Rusty Rackets on a pay and play basis. The cost is £10 per session and both options (6 week course & pay & play) are open to Members and non-Members. Please pre-book your place before attending any Rusty Rackets sessions.
This course isn't suitable for beginners but if a member would like to attend a beginner course, please email me and I will arrange for you to attend a course as soon as possible.
2-hour Coaching Sessions for Team Players - Wednesday mornings, 11am to 1pm (Court 1)
These 2-hour sessions are available for members only. The coach for this course is Adrian and the cost is £12 per session.
1-hour Coaching Sessions - Thursday evenings, 7-8pm and 8-9pm (Court 1)
These 1-hour sessions are available for members who are of an intermediate standard.
Suitable for intermediate club players. Not suitable for beginners, improvers, or rusty rackets but there are group sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings for beginners, improvers and rusty rackets.
4 players in each session. Cost is £10 per session, plus £1 for floodlights if used.
Ladies Team Coaching - Saturday mornings, 8-9am (Court 1)
A 1-hour coaching session with Alex for the Ladies 1st team.
