Beckington Tennis Club are very proud of our Head Coach, Donna West for being awarded LTA Somerset Coach of the Year. What an achievement!

Donna has worked tirelessly to build up the coaching programme at Beckington Tennis Club and there are now around 70 juniors on the coaching programme. She is also awarded as one of the top 8 coaches in the country for getting more girls into tennis through the LTA Prime Video Programme. Donna has enterered teams into the Play your way to Wimbledon competitions for U14 boys and girls and ladies doubles with finalists going through to the regional competitions. The under 12 boys were medalists in the Wiltshire junior league. Red, orange, green and yellow ball groups had their own club championships with medals and trophies and all groups have been enjoying the LTA team challenges covering different themes.

Donna has also facilitated the training of 8 older juniors on the LTA Tennis Leaders Course, enhancing their CVs, and one  junior has just completed the level 1 assistant tennis coaching award.

Donna also runs a popular daytime adult coaching session and has introduced Walking Tennis in order to include all members of the community in the tennis programme.
