Billericay Lawn Tennis Club is run entirely by volunteers.

The day to day management of the Club is delegated to a management committee consisting of the Chairman, the Treasurer, Club Secretary, Club Captain, Membership Secretary, Facilities Manager, and Junior Representative.

The Management Committee meet at least six times in the ensuing year to examine the accounts, arrange the affairs of the Club and plan the ongoing development of the club’s facilities. Minutes of the AGM and committee meetings can be viewed on the Club Notices & Documents page.

Reporting to the main committee are several sub-committees including the tennis committee, the social commitee, and the  ground development committee.

Tennis Committee

The tennis committee selects the squads to play league tennis against other clubs, organises the club championships and other internal competitions and has overall responsibility for tennis at the club. The tennis committee consists of Club Captain, Vice  Captain, Head Coach, Membership Secretary and Fixture Secretary.

Social Committee

The social committee plans and organises the club’s social events.

Ground Development Committee

The ground development committee plans and organises the repairs and general maintenance necessary to keep the tennis club facilities in good condition. The ground development committee organises working parties to tackle some of the many ongoing jobs throughout the year and are always looking for volunteers to help with these essential jobs.

Looking for a way to give something back to the club?

The club always needs volunteers to help with the many jobs required to run a tennis club. The club cannot run without your help no matter how small your contribution.

Perhaps you could help with the many repair and maintenance tasks that continually occur. If you can help in any way speak to a member of the committee. It would be very much appreciated.  

Why not help to arrange and organise some  social events. Maybe join the social committee. If you would like to help with social events contact the social secretary.

We always need volunteers to help during the Essex Open Tournament. This prestigious event lasts for one week around July/August and involves a lot of work for the club members. If you can spare some time to help, even just a couple of hours, contact a member of the committee.

If you would like to help run the club by becoming a committee member you can stand for election at the next AGM.
