*CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

An incredible weekend of celebrations took place at the end of July 2023 to mark 100 years of tennis at our home on Love Lane. Dozens joined us in celebrating the centenary of Bishop's Castle Tennis Club, with free Tennis and coaching for all on both mornings, plus a hugely exciting Exhibition match and a delicious afternoon tea on Sunday. Welcome to Bishop’s Castle Tennis Club!

A friendly, welcoming and inclusive club set in the beautiful Shropshire Hills, offering great value for players of all ages and abilities.

We are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with 'We Do Tennis' who will provide professional coaching with accredited LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) Coaches.

For over 100 years, tennis has been played on our appropriately named Love Lane grounds, with their spectacular views of the south Shropshire hills, buzzards and red kites.

The courts are in a superb location adjacent to the A488 road, a short distance from the town centre. Car parking is available. It’s less than a 10-minute walk from town by public footpath.

We have 2 floodlit hard courts and an AstroTurf court which are played all year round.

The Club provides:

Social & competitive tennis for all ages and standards;
Coaching opportunities for those who want it;
We field a number of teams in the Shropshire LTA leagues.

FREE TENNIS SESSIONS

Come and Play - Every Saturday This April

We're offering free taster tennis sessions for adults every Saturday throughout April 2024.

Come down to our Club Play sessions between 10am and midday and play tennis with us. Bring your own raquets or we have some you can borrow. All abilities welcomed - come and meet us and see if you'd like to be part of our friendly welcoming club.

Join us on Saturday April 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th, any time between 10-12. We look forward to seeing you there

FRENCH OPEN TEAM CHALLENGE FOR JUNIORS

Join us on Saturday 25th May

Fun tennis based games and matches at our French Open Team Challenge event for children from 7 to 15 years old, all abilities are welcome. Equipment provided. For more information, click here.

ADULT COACHING - PAY AS YOU GO SESSIONS

Our coach Wendy is running an improvers course every Saturday afternoon from 2.30 - 3.30pm.

The adult coaching session is for players wanting to improve their technique and tactical play. We focus on one aspect a week for example, rallying, volleying, and serve and return. There are drills to focus on the particular aspect and a points based game at the end. The sessions are £5 per session and are pay as you go so you are not tied to a monthly payment scheme.

Membership -we have a range of attractive options including 3-month Taster memberships, available throughout the year.

New members of any age and standard are always welcome and no previous playing experience is necessary.
