COUNTY NEWS

The Club is delighted to learn that three current club mini/junior members are now in county squads. Hector Fisher who won this years 10U Boys singles together with David Cunliffe are in the County 11U squad and David’s older brother Gabriel has maintained his county place for another year and now plays in the 14U squad.

The boys have all played tennis and been members of HTC since infant school age. They all play several times a week at Haddenham and will now attend the monthly County Squad training provided by Bucks County Tennis.

It is Hector's first squad selection, David was previously in the 10U squad and Gabriel has been included each year since 10U. Not without hard-work Gabriel trains several times a week and plays in tournaments at the weekends and school holidays.

Our Minis Development Programme was set up 4 years ago for children identified with potential by Blaise during his weekly village school visits and our minis coaching programmes. We now have 5 groups who train on Saturday afternoons.

HTC feeds into the County squad selection process at various age levels. Club Coaches nominate children for selection days which are held at various times during the year, dependent on age, this gives players the opportunity to train with their peers and have an aspirational experience with a goal of ultimately being selected to represent their county.
