Mini Juniors begin competing in internal club matches (Grade 7), then typically move onto LTA Youth Matchplays e.g. Whirlwind Mini Tour events. At the same time, they may also be competing in Grade 4 (County) & Grade 5 events (County Region e.g North Devon)  & for these players receive "recent form" points that allow for seeding & for 9U & 10U County & National Leaderboards exist. Grade 3 are Regional events e.g (South West) & Grade 1 & 2 are National events.

COMPETING Mini's born 2013 or later can benefit from a FREE LTA (British Tennis) T-shirt & Hoody after completing 20 & 40 competitive matches respectively in any one ball colour (RED, ORANGE & GREEN). WHIRLWIND DEVON EVENTS - WHIRLWIND CORNWALL EVENTS

WHIRLWIND MINI TOUR & MINI MASTERS FINALS

Mini Tennis Players aged 10 & under (Mini Green), 9 & under (Mini Orange) & 8 & under (Mini Red) enter events throughout Devon to collect points towards a season leaderboard with the top 8 players invited to an end of seasons finals event in March & August.

This competition was new for summer 2016 & replaced the Flybe events which saw so many Ilfracombe players reaching finals & Joe Cooper winning the 10 & under Green final in August 2014. 

At the Whirlwind Mini Tour winter finals in March 2017 Rodrigo Anzules-Argote won the 9 & under Orange event.

At the winter finals in March 2019 Reuben Bright won the 8 & under Red Whirlwind event, having also been the joint leaderboard winner with a maximum 1500 points.

At the summer finals in August 2019 Reuben Bright again won the 8 & under Red Whirlwind event, having again been the joint leaderboard winner with a maximum 1500 points, this time with club mate Bode Burrows. At the same summer 2019 finals in August 2019 Leo Freeman was runner-up in the 9 & under Orange Whirlwind event. 

During  the autumn/winter 2019/20 season Bode Burrows was the sole 8 & under RED Whirlwind leaderboard winner, again with a maximum 1500 points & Reuben Bright was the sole 9 & under ORANGE Whirlwind leaderboard winner with a maximum 1500 points. The March 2020 winter finals were cancelled due to coronavirus. Events did not happen during Summer 2020 & thus there were no finals in August 2020. Similarly, only one-off events happened in Autumn/Winter 2020/21  & thus there were no finals in March 2021.

Leaderboards were reintroduced for events from January to August 2021. 

For RED, Torren finished 3rd, Ted 4th,  & Dylan A 5th

For ORANGE, Torren finished 4th, Ziggy 6th & Ralph 8th 

For GREEN, Edward finished leaderboard winner, Bode & Reuben jt 2nd, Seth 5th, George 6th & Rudy 8th

At the Summer finals in September 2021  Reuben won the GREEN (10U) event

For RED, Robin finished 2nd, Kit 3rd & Marlow 6th

For GREEN, Cam finished 4th & Rudy 8th

At the summer finals in September 2022 Marlow finished 3rd in RED (8U) & Kit 5th

For RED, Kit finished 4th & for ORANGE, Robin finished 4th

Summer 2023 Leaderboards...

For RED, Ralph finished 3rd & Kit 4th & for ORANGE, Robin finished 7th

At the summer finals in August 2023, Kit won the RED Mini Masters Finals event & Robin won the ORANGE event. Ralph only lost to Kit & the runner-up in the RED event.
