TEAM TENNIS HISTORY

Team Tennis lost the sponsor (Aegon) from 2018, our view of the competition changed with 15 team fixtures being cancelled by our opponents. This was somewhat caused due to the lack of participation by other North Devon Clubs.

The lack of a sponsor for 2018, the lack of local opposition, the difficulty (both ends) with team travel, the commitment to team tennis dates, all pointed to a rethink of our participation in & support of team tennis for 2019. We have consulted over preferred competition formats & a  decision was made to not participate for the 2019 summer season & the 2020 season has been cancelled due to the coronavirus. We will review the competition changes for 2021. 

Summer Team Tennis

Prior to 2018 Atlantic Racquet Centre, Ilfracombe & Tarka Tennis Centre, all entered 8U, 9U & 10U teams into the first division of Aegon Team Tennis. For 2018 there was no sponsor, although the format & arrangements remained the same. However only Ilfracombe & Tarka submitted 8U teams into the first division & only Ilfracombe submitted 9U & 10U teams (Tarka entered a 9U team into the second division). 

North Devon Junior League - retired from 2017 (sadly missed by this club!)

The North Devon Junior League ran for a number of years & involved teams from ARC, Braunton, Ilfracombe & Tarka. In the winter season there were typically one event in each age group before & after Xmas. In the summer season there is typially one event in each age group as Team Tennis team events took priority.
