Ilfracombe Learning Community

We currently run weekly school day & after school coaching for Ilfracombe Infant and Nursery School as follows:

YEAR 2: Autumn Term (12 weeks, all classes, 45 minute sessions at Bicclescombe Park) 
Autumn/winter/spring & 1st summer half-term, Tuesday 305-415pm session at Ilfracombe Infants Gymnasium

YEAR 1: Winter Term (12 weeks, all classes, 45 minute sessions at Bicclescombe Park) 
2nd summer half-term, Tuesday 305-415pm session at Ilfracombe Infants Gymnasium

RECEPTION: Spring/Summer Term (12 weeks, all reception classes, 45 minute sessions at Ilfracombe Infants).

We previously ran weekly after school coaching for Woolacombe School & Combe Martin Primary School as follows:

YR2-YR6: Summer Term 4-5pm Coaching (aimed at juniors attending the bi-annual schools tennis competitions at the indoor Tarka Tennis Centre. Combe Martin School arrange a mini bus to take children to the club & back to Combe Martin. We would like to  develop sessions for Berrynarbor, West Down, Kentisbury, Lynton & Parracombe primaries.

We offer support to all schools entering teams into the Indoor schools & colleges tennis competitions that typically occur twice a year at the indoor/outdoor  Tarka Tennis Centre in Barnstaple or at the indoor/outdoor Atlantic Racquet Centre  for YR2, YR3/4, YR5/6,  YR7/8, YR9/10 & YR11/12/13.

Tennis For Kids (not running currently)

120 Ilfracombe & Braunton Learning community children aged 5-8 years old  attended 9 FREE Tennis For Kids 2017 6-week courses (3 courses in 2016).  The children on the courses received a FREE racket at the end of the course & low-cost opportunities to continue their tennis journey!

FREE Indoor Tennis at Ilfracombe Academy (not currently running)

From October 2017 we offered YR2 infants who already coach outdoors, as part of either club activities or as part of their school curriculum, the chance to attend a FREE indoor weekly coaching session on Mondays from 445-6pm.

ACADEMY STUDENTS - For YR7+ pupils there was a FREE after-school Touch Tennis session from 330-430pm & a FREE Tennis Leaders Touch Tennis session from 6-7pm 

For the 2015/16 academic year we ran weekly (Thursdays &/or Fridays) school sessions at Woolacombe School.
