FIRST AID TRAINING & INFORMATION

FIRST AID

Recently our coaches & some team players attended a FANTASTIC full one day "Emergency First Aid at Work" training, at the clubhouse. The trainer was Liz Greenway from Abbeymead Safety Training, a Community First Responder & Beach Lifeguard. We are keen to upskill our club players in FIRST AID basics & have some practical suggestions for you...

FIRST AID APPS

We recommend that all club members download three invaluable apps that can assist with all First Aid situations & those situations that require calls to emergency services. These apps are:

WHAT THREE WORDS - pinpoints your location to within approx. 3 metres & works at sea!

FIRST AID BY BRITISH RED CROSS - video step by step guides for the most common first aid situations

BABY & CHILD FIRST AID  - video step by step guides for the most common first aid situations

DEFIBRILLATOR

You may not be aware that we have a defibrillator right outside the main doors to the tennis clubhouse. You may hear it referred to as an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) & there are vedeo tutorials on the RED CROSS apps that demonsrate how easy they are to use, even if you are not FIRST AID trained.

If you would like to know more about First Aid training opportunities or demonstrations of the use of the AED or of other common First Aid scenario's please email Gary Tovey

FIRST AID BOXES

These are located in the clubhouse, in the main room, just outside the kitchen area, on both sides. We are in the process of confirming a First Aid representative for the club. In the meantime, the First Aid trained members are as follows:

COACHES: Ros Cooke, Gary Tovey

TEAM PLAYERS: Ally Poore, Luke McAuley

If you are First Aid trained & attend club sessions or are in attendance during junior sessions please email Gary Tovey if you are happy to be included in a register of First Aid trained members
