2022 WINTER COUNTY CUP

Ladies Team Result

Northumberland Ladies County Team travelled to Bromley Tennis Centre, Kent for the LTA Winter Indoor County Cup held over the weekend of 24-27 November 2022.

The Team, who were competing in Group 2, were off to an excellent start on Friday when they defeated Hertfordshire 5-4 in a closely fought match. This was the platform for convincing wins on Saturday against Buckinghamshire 8-1 and on Sunday against Cheshire 6-0.

Three wins out of three guaranteed Northumberland top spot in the Group and promotion back to Group 1 for 2023.

The Team comprised: Amy Hoburn (Team Manager and Captain), Alex Walker, Teddy Prisadnikova, Aimee Knowles, Steph Booth, Lauren Jones, Abby Kelliher and Jess Hart.

Mens Team Result

Northumberland Men’s County Team were at the Nuffield Health and Fitness Centre, Hull for their Winter Indoor County Cup also held over 24-27 November.

The Team were competing in Group 6A and were off to a good start on Friday with a 6-3 win over South of Scotland. This was followed by a 7-2 win over Bedfordshire on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the momentum could not be maintained and the Team lost against Gloucestershire 2-5, leaving us in Group 6 for 2023.

The Team comprised: Adam Boba (Team Manager and Captain), Cormac Lunn, Ronan Lunn, Sam Knowles, Kourus Anssarizadeth, Lewis Scott, Andrew Hunsley and Dennis Lapping.
