Tennis Courts Back In Action!

WELLINGTON Tennis Club’s members have been back on the courts playing singles and in family groups – and having one-to-one coaching.

The club has introduced a new online booking system which enables members and the public to book courts.

Chairman Sue Rackley said: “I wasn’t sure how members would react to having to register on our website in order to book courts but they’ve all responded positively. As it was working so smoothly, we launched the online booking system for the public.”

Anyone who would like to book a court or join the club should use the https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/WellingtonTennisClub link to find a membership package that suits. Anyone who would like to book a court, priced £6 an hour, should use the same link and register to book.

The club’s third court should be finished by the end of summer but that will depend on when the court building company, First Serve, can return to work. Sport England awarded the club £30,000 to complete the build and floodlight it, and the lights are now on order.

Sue added: “The administrative process has been quite time consuming but it is very satisfying to know it’s finally all come together. We certainly need to celebrate afterwards – when the lockdown has lifted, of course.”
