The past couple years has seen great success for club’s A team, with two successive year
promotions.

In 2021 the team were in the West Somerset Mixed League Division 3, however with new members
joining the club, we have been able to strengthen our team, winning Division 3 comfortably.
This year in Division 2 we got off to a slow start, but as the season progressed, we eventually found
our mojo. Minehead however, had made a great start, pulling ahead of the pack and would take
some catching. With some terrific wins from us, we were still in the race and promotion came down
to the very last match of the season.

The last match was against Taunton B and we needed a win to guarantee 2 nd place in the league. We
beat Taunton 7 -3 and after totting up all the league points, we managed to catch up with Minehead,
finishing joint top of the league with 49 points each.
league rules state: “If teams are level on points at the end of the season, their position will be determined by the number
of wins”. We had one more win than Minehead and hence finished top.

I would like to thank everybody that played for the A team this season: Emma, Kate, Annie, Maggie,
Shaun, Duncan, Davide and Derek.

What a super result for the club and the next challenge will be to avoid relegation from Division 1.
It will be a step up in competition taking on the cream of the West Somerset League.
