A big congratulations goes to Bruce Johnson who has won the Club Summer Doubles Ladder for 2024 taking the title for the second year running. As always, a very tough and closely fought ladder season goes his way with his name being engraved on our Club Doubles Ladder Shield. A very worthy winner as Bruce has battled through some tough summer months, starting off in Division 1 and not dropping a division throughout the season, having played 15 matches, winning 101 games and and losing just 47.What an achievement Bruce!

Bruce had said,”I am really pleased to add a second win to the Summer Doubles Ladder Shield. Looking back at previous doubles ladder results - 101 points appears to be my biggest winning score. However, quite often Tennis score-lines do not reflect the full story and the result has required 5 consistent months of matches against worthy opposition. This was particularly apparent during the first month, where 17 pts left me in tied 6th position.I would like to thank all participating players, and in particular Ian and Mark for their tireless efforts to keep the Club Ladders running. Lastly as I would always remind us; it is important to me that we remember Phil Ingram through both the Summer and Winter Ladder Shields. He would be so proud of what a friendly competitive atmosphere the Club has nurtured. Winter 24/25 looks to be another strong upcoming Ladder. Best of luck to all.”
