Charnwood dozen head to warm-weather training

Head of adult coaching at Charnwood Tennis Club, Caroline Wilkinson, recently led a party of 12 ladies on a five day pre-season warm weather training trip to Lanzarote.

Caroline has led 23 of these popular and successful tours since 2014 all to the Puerto del Carmen resort.

Under the watchful eye and tutelage of Caroline and in the warm weather, players worked on their skills and techniques as well as doubles tactics.

These improvements along with the team spirit and camaraderie the trip engendered will benefit The Club in preparation for the upcoming summer league tennis season which starts towards the end of April.

Charnwood’s Ladies section is both inclusive and thriving and players in Caroline's trip will represent the Club who will field seven teams this season.

There will be opportunities for plenty of matches for players of all abilities from beginners up to County Level.

Prior to their return, Caroline held a team competition on Monday morning during which players put their training into practice.

That evening, Jo Eggleston was presented with the trophy for Player of the Week for her tremendous efforts over the five days.
