At the heart of the community... A family orientated tennis club for all ages and abilities

Finals weekend - 7/8th September

This is our biggest event of the year and is always well attended by players, members and their guests. The various rounds of the club championships take place throughout the summer, culminating in the finals being played on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September. Find out more here.

We welcome everyone from absolute beginners to serious players

Since its foundation in 1979, and with the continuing evolution, the club maintains its original ethos – to offer excellent well maintained facilities for all ages and abilities, as well as having a superb reputation for being a very social and family orientated club alongside a high standard of competitive tennis. We offer coaching programmes for all and are particularly keen to encourage juniors. Currently there are circa 600 Members, many of which are families.

The club prides itself on being organised, maintained and run mainly through the goodwill of its Members. The only paid staff are the cleaner and the gardener. All other work at the club is purely on a volunteer basis, so we encourage members to play their part and offer whatever time or skills they can to help the club maintain its standards and reputation.

New artificial clay courts now open

Courts 6 & 7 opened to members on 19 August 2024. Court 6 is to the left and court 7 is to the right, follow the tarmac path. We have a temporary yellow brush to sweep the courts after you finish playing and a brush to clear the lines. Further work will be done to grass the surrounds and plant bushes etc. Please use the shoe brushes by each gate to stop the spread of the artificial clay. Members are know entitled to book 6 one hour sessions in a 7 day period.

Online booking of courts

It is not compulsory to pre-book courts but we would highly recommend you continue to do so to ensure you get a good amount of time to play. Alternatively you can just turn up and if there is a court available and nobody has booked it, then you may play. Book a court and read the rules here.

Club-branded clothing

The Club has partnered with an organisation that produces on-demand branded clothing and accessories such as t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, skorts, hoodies, fleeces, jackets, water bottles and mugs. The club logo is either printed or embroidered onto each item, depending on the type of material.
