Vet's Second Team Finishing Strong

Charnwood Tennis mens' second team vets hosted Stoney Stanton firsts on Sunday 3rd August in their penultimate doubles match of their summer campaign.

With captain Chris Barlow on the sidelines, the Charnwood side featured Raj Chaggar partnering Richard Cooper as well as Nick Barham playing alongside Glenn James.

In this competition, each pair plays two matches over two sets (first to six games) against both of their opposing pairs, so eight sets of tennis are played altogether.

The tennis played on the club's savannah courts was of a high standard and after the first round of matches the score was level at two sets all.

Charnwood went on to win the second round by three sets to one to secure an overall victory by five sets to three.

This was the penultimate tennis match of the season for the Loughborough team who have now won two, tied one and lost two of their five fixtures.

Their final game will be away at Oakham on 17th August when they will endeavour to finish the season on a high against tough opposition.
