Charnwood club coach Caroline Wilkinson recently led a party of 12 women tennis players from the club to a resort in Lanzarote for five days of pre-season warm weather training.
Making use of the excellent facilities, tennis drills and matches were played every day and some days twice per day during a full-on and energetic trip.
The penultimate day of the training camp saw a matchplay competition, with players implementing newly-learned skills, resulting in a victory for 'Team Heather Watson'.
These tours have been successfully running for more than 10 years and Caroline says that players really feel the benefit of such intense training and practice.
This is especially the case with summer league matches at Charnwood, running soon after their return from Lanzarote, starting a the end of April and running to early July.
