Dalston LTC

Welcome to Dalston Tennis Club.  We are situated in a quiet rural recreation ground just off the The Green in the village of Dalston, near Carlisle, Cumbria.  We are a friendly club and we look forward to welcoming any new members or visitors. 

MEMBERSHIP

If you wish to become a member of Dalston Tennis Club we just need some details from you.  Please click the 'Membership' option from the main menu, fill in the form and then you’re good to go!  Membership prices can be found on that page.

VISITORS

Visitors are welcome to play and can book courts for £8 p/hr (details below).  Please use the 'Contact Us' form in the main menu if you would like to get in touch about playing as a visitor.

COURT BOOKINGS

If you would like to book a court you can do this via the 'Court Booking' option in the main menu.  Courts are booked in 1 hour slots and can be booked by members (for free) or by visitors for £8 p/hr.  Alternatively you can just come along and join in one of the organised social sessions, detailed below.

COACHING

We are delighted to welcome our new coach, Mike McMillin, who is a full time LTA Level 3 coach.  We are pleased to be able to offer a year round coaching programme at Dalston. 

If you wish to join in the Junior or Senior Coaching Sessions please go to the 'Coaching' page via the main menu and you will be able to enrol easily.  Details and prices of all courses can all be found on the page.  Just click on the relevant course and follow the instructions on screen.  The junior sessions are subsidised for the summer term and rackets are available to borrow if needed.

All coaching sessions are on a first come, first served basis.

FACILITIES & FLOODLIGHTS

We have four hard courts, two of which have floodlights.  Floodlight tokens last for one hour and are £4 each or 6 for £20.  Please use the 'Contact Us' form in the main menu to arrange collection of tokens.  We aim to provide the highest quality facilities at the club and constantly invest in the courts and clubhouse.  Our clubhouse has recently been renovated and further work is to be carried out to the grassed area to the side of the clubhouse to make a great space for spectators and for social events. 

KEYS

Keys are available from the Suziebou shop in Dalston Square at a cost of £5. These will give you access to the courts, toilet and the clubhouse.  Please note that junior member keys only allow access into the courts and the loo (not the clubhouse).

SOCIAL TENNIS

Club Nights are held on Monday evenings 7pm onwards from mid April. Just come along and join in.  We hold daytime morning sessions for 50’s, 60’s 70’s and 80’s age groups.  These run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays all year round, weather permitting, from 10am to 12pm.  Please come along to any of these sessions and join in and you will be made to feel very welcome.

We also host social events during the season including a BBQ & American Tournament (where the loser of each game gets a head start in the next one) and a Little and Large Tournament (where juniors play with adults).  The focus is always on fun and providing an environment where all players can have an introduction into competitive play in a friendly environment.  We also have an end of season social meal out.

TEAMS AND LEAGUES

We have four teams in the Carlisle and District League.  Matches are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm and use all 4 courts from around 6pm or 6:15pm.  If you are interested in playing competitive tennis, match practice nights will be held.  More details to follow.
