Maryport Tennis Club

We are a small friendly tennis club based in the coastal town of Maryport on the West Cumbria coast. Our facilities include 4 floodlit tennis courts with year round access to members, we also have our own clubhouse adjacent to the courts.

Maryport Tennis Club was 100 years old in 2019. 

We have an active adult section with weekly social tennis for all members to come down and play. 

Information on playing times, payments etc

There are organised social sessions on Wednesday and Friday mornings 10:00 - 12:00 and Sundays 17:00 to 19:00 in summer 14:00 - 16:00 when the clock changes. Cost is £2 which includes balls. Usually there is a committee member who collects the fees at the social sessions. Non-members £4 per session.

We are hoping to begin a Monday evening organised social session from 18:30 to 20:30.

Members can also play on the courts at any time outside school hours.

Lights are available at £1 per hour [there is a meter].

The annual membership fees for the 2025 season are:

Seniors £40 (first year of joining £20),  Social Members £20, students juniors under 18 and unemployed £10.

Membership fees to be paid by 1 June 2025.

When you play outside the organized sessions, members should pay £1 per person per hour (non members £2).

If you play with a non member, then you are responsible for collecting their fee.

Organised practice sessions for beginners and improvers are run each year. If interested please contact Brian Money (01900 812244) or the.moneys@btinternet.com. In 2025, these sessions are taking place on Saturday mornings from April 26th to May 31st from 10:00 until 12:00. The cost is £3 per morning including tea & cake.

LEAGUE TENNIS

The club enters several teams (Mens, Womens & Mixed) in the West Cumbria Tennis Summer and Winter Leagues. 

TENNIS TOURNAMENTS

In 2025 the Tennis Club will also run tennis tournaments for  members of all abilities :-

           Sunday April 27th                                14:00 

           Saturday June 21st                             14:00     (followed by a BBQ)

           Sunday September 14th                   14:00

           Saturday December 27th                 11:00
