The following newsletter was sent out to all current members in April 2023:

The sun is starting to shine, the grass is looking good and we are very nearly able to play tennis on the courts again. So now, I need to give you some dates for your diary....

Pre-season Social event - 21st April 2023 7pm onwards

This is a chance for members to enjoy meeting up & socialise in readiness for the 2023 season. We will meet in the clubhouse (outside if the weather is good). Drinks will be provided and we ask members to bring a plate of food to share. 

Opening of the courts - May 6th

We are planning to open up the courts for play again on Saturday 6th May. You will be able to book the courts on this day using Clubspark and we will also hold our first club afternoon of the season from 2-4pm. It would be great to see as many of you as possible during the afternoon.

Membership Renewal - during April

You will receive an email from the club by the end of next week (14th April) that contains  a personal link to enable you to renew your membership via ClubSpark.  You may renew either by paying with a credit card, or choosing the "other" method of payment.  When you choose "other" as a means of payment it does not take you to an option to transfer money via BACs. If you want to pay by BACs you need to make the bank transfer yourself via your own bank. Once the money has gone into the tennis club bank account, we will manually change your status on ClubSpark as "Active". The only automatic payment method in ClubSpark is by credit/debit cards.

 If you want to pay using BACs then the club account details are:

Coaching

We will be running our offer for coaching again this year. We are offering all our full members THREE free coaching sessions as part of any of the group coaching programmes run by Julie Williams, our coach.

One -One coaching sessions. Julie is also offering private lessons for those of you wanting to work specifically on an aspect of your game.

Playing with non-members

You are very welcome to play with non-members (guests) and they just need to pay £5 per person each time they play (as a member, you are responsible for paying the £5 and this can be done by transferring the money into the tennis club account). Alternatively, non-members can book a court using the Pay and Play option in ClubSpark where booking a court for 1 hour costs £10.

Dates for your Diary

We will be holding three tournaments this year and all members are very welcome to enter and enjoy the fun.

July 9th -2023  Pete Owers Tournament - a fun doubles tournament

August 13th 2023 - Club Championship (finals day)  - a competitive tournament for doubles (ladies, mens and mixed) and singles (ladies and men).

September 10th 2023 - Joan Jeremiah Tournament - a fun doubles tournament

I will send out more details about the tournaments nearer to the dates.

Open Afternoon - May 13th 2023  2-5pm

Finally, and very importantly, we will be holding another open afternoon to invite potential new members to come along meet us all and play with members in our club afternoon session. We are very pleased to welcome any new members who want to join the club.

 If you know of anyone who might be interested, please do encourage them to come along. We will start at 2pm and the session will go on until 5pm. We will provide tea and cake during the afternoon.  The session is free to all potential new members.
