Knighton Tennis Club was formed in January 2010, with its home being Knighton Tennis Centre in the grounds of Sir Jonathan North Girls’ College.
The club has enjoyed success over the years in all levels and age groups of team tennis and, due to the club’s success in the AEGON team tennis competition, was named Tennis Leicestershire Club of the Year in 2012.
In the years that have followed, the Club has maintained its high achievements, winning divisions in all Mini tennis ratings and tennis ball levels.

The Centre is Leicestershire’s only indoor tennis facility that is open to the public without membership and really is a hidden gem, enabling tennis lovers to enjoy perfecting their game all-year round, in comfort!
Boasting 4 courts resurfaced with a top-level acrylic playing surface, the LED lighting provides excellent visibility for players and air conditioning offers light relief in the hot summer months.
Further, the centre enjoys a viewing gallery over the courts, refreshment facilities, and a separate exercise studio for hire.
The centre benefits from a partnership with Sir Jonathan North Girls’ College – part of Lionheart Educational Trust – with students taking advantage of the facility for their sporting curriculum, and also providing players for Knighton Tennis Club youth teams.
