Head of Performance Coaching for Tennis Leicestershire

 

Tennis Leicestershire is seeking a new Head of Performance Coaching to co-ordinate and manage the provision of County training and County Cup teams, building relationships with coaches and clubs enabling the identification and progression of junior players from across the County.

 

We are looking for an outstanding coach who will be motivated to make our programme the best in the UK at all age groups from U9 to U18 and build on recent County Cup success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Co-ordinate and manage a programme of Junior County Training sessions at one of the UK’s most impressive indoor tennis centres and select County Cup Teams. The programme currently includes Regional and National level players.

 

  1. Develop an established county competition programme that is well supported by the clubs with over 200 Junior/mini teams in the Aegon Team Tennis League and one of the biggest and best run Junior County Closed tournaments.

 

  1. Enhance the existing large club and coach network in the county and links with the Midlands Regional Training Programme

 

The role is based within the superb facilities of Loughborough University Tennis Centre where the programme has access to 9 hours county designated indoor court time per week. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced performance coach to transform a prestigious county performance programme which currently has over 40 players. There is also potential to grow the programme in the south of the county.

 

The successful candidate will have office space and administrative support at the County office at Loughborough University Tennis Centre. The County Management board are fully supportive of the programme and give funding for talented young players through a Charitable Trust, all of which is underpinned by the new LTA Strategy which includes club and county investment.

 

The role will be as a part time consultant to the County and fees will be negotiable depending on experience and hours.

Applicants must be qualified LTA Coach Accredited+ Minimum Level 4 and have a track record of managing and delivering a high performance programme.
