Both Charnwood Tennis men's and ladies teams were in National League action at home on Sunday 12th May.
The men were out first in the morning hosting Lady Bay from Nottingham.
The Charnwood side of Chris Mears, Steve Mears (captain), James Ison and Ashton Zaranyika won all four singles matches and then shared the two following doubles matches to take the tie 5-1 on aggregate.
This was subsequently followed by the ladies who hosted Redditch, also on the savannah courts at Nanpantan Sports Ground.
After the four singles matches the scoreline was three one to Redditch.
For the doubles that followed, Mary Nevill was subbed and replaced by Rachel Slaymaker, and Charnwood won both matches to take the fixture to three sets all.
A play off ensued with two singles matches, with both sides winning one, a doubles play off was required to determine the overall winners.
However, by now, Redditch were a player short and unable to play this and so Charnwood claimed the victory!
