Hinckley Junior Olivia makes her mark

Do you know we have a runner up at a recent National Champs in our midst?

Olivia started her tennis journey in 2018 at Hinckley when she was just 4 years old. Her interest was sparked by attending one of the six week ‘British tennis for kids’ events at Hinckley, which came with a free racket and name on her shirt.

This then developed into Saturday mornings with Carl which hooked her love of tennis, playing mini reds and having a go in the mini league and club tournaments.

This led on to registering for an LTA number enabling her to start competing in tournaments across the region with some success. Liv was then selected to train with the U8 county team. Liv progressed with some 1:1 coaching just before Covid struck but fortunately tennis was one of the first sports that could start training again with a mixture of group and individual sessions.

Liv loves competing and is motivated to test herself at all levels. Highlights are being invited to three Regional Camps at Nottingham, playing as part of the county cup team and playing in national tournaments coming runner up at the National Champs at Queenswood this summer.

Liv’s ambitions are to keep training with Alex and Ben to develop and stay within the County set up as long as possible and travel the world playing tennis!

Needless to say we are super proud of Liv at Hinckley Town Tennis Club! We will continue to watch her progress with keen interest.
