New Coaching Team In Place

The coaching programme at HTTC is provided by All Inclusive Tennis. We aim to offer sessions for players of all ages and abilities in a friendly and welcoming environment and pride ourselves on making sessions fun and inclusive. We have worked hard over the last few years to further develop our inclusive tennis programme and we are proud to say we now run 4 sessions a week working closely with local groups and schools.

Name: Ben Porter

Role: Head Coach

Qualification: Level 3 coach

Profile: 

Ben is head coach at Hinckley Town Tennis Club and works accross all aspects of the coaching programme. He believes in keeping tennis fun and this shows with his passion and enthusiasm both on and off court. He is particularly interested in developing and mentoring players of all ages and abilities to excel and to have the best tennis experience possible. Before joining HTTC, Ben was head of community tennis for the Edgbaston Priory club. Name: Edd Whetton

Role: All Inclusive Tennis director

Qualification: Level 3 coach,  Spanish qualification of Director de tennis and USPTA America Elite Professional. 

Profile:

Edd has been head coach at Syston Northfields tennis club since 2013 and has developed the coaching programme greatly in this time. In his junior days, Edd represented Leicestershire at every age group from 12&U to 18&U. Edd specialises in disability and inclusion tennis and has a lot of experience in this area having coached at the Tokyo 2020 olympic talent ID day for wheelchair tennis; been selected by the Tennis Foundation and LTA to run sessions for injured servicemen and coached at several disability festivals around the country. Name: Alex Guzder

Role: All Inclusive Tennis director

Qualification: Level 4 coach

Profile:

Alex has been head coach at Ashby Castle LTC since 2016 and has developed all aspects of the coaching programme in this time, in particular the performance programme. Alex became the youngest winner of the Leicestershire coach of the year award in 2017 and went on to win the Midlands award. He currently coaches several players who are competing at a national standard and is Leicestershire 14&U boys and girls county captain. Name: Carl Dignum

Role: Coach

Qualification: Level 2 coach

Profile: 

Carl has played tennis at HTTC since he was a junior and regularly competed for the teams. After a break to concentrate on his career in fitness where he was a manager Livingwell Health clubs, he returned to the club as an assistant coach. He is level 2 qualified and currently taking his level 3 qualification. He has a passion for coaching players of all ages and in particular, the inclusive sessions.
