League update

Following 2020 where there were no matches because of the Covid situation, the 2021 West Cumbria Tennis League got underway in late April.  There is one Ladies' Division with 7 teams and two Mens' Divisions with 5 teams each.

All clubs have been finding it difficult with changing travel restrictions and uncertainty over the availability of players, so some matches have had to be postponed or forfeited.  In particular, Maryport 1 withdrew their Mens team from Division 1 at a late stage.  However, it is good to see that competitive tennis has returned and clubs are making a determined effort to get back to normal.

The following gives a brief update on our teams at roughly the half-way point of the season.

In the Ladies Division:

Keswick Ladies 1 are leading having played 7 matches, winning 6 and losing 1.

Keswick Ladies 2 are progressing well having played 8 matches, winning 3 and losing 5.

In Mens' Division 1:

Keswick Men's 1 have had 4 matches, winning 2 and forfeiting 2.

In Mens' Division 2:

Keswick Men's 2 have had 5 matches, winning 1, losing 2 and forfeiting 2.

Thanks to all players who have taken part, and good luck in the remaining matches
