We had another round of great success at the Wiltshire Tennis Awards on Friday 6 March. Congratulations to everyone across Wiltshire who volunteers and won their award category.
Members from Marlborough who were recognised included:
- Sebby as ‘Most Improved under 8 player’. Sebby also received support from the Marlborough Sports Forum and has been coached by Neil Watts our performance coach
- Jemma Eke as Wiltshire winner of the ‘LTA Young Person of the Year’ Award. Jemma recently also achieved her Level 1 coaching qualification and has been a member since she was three years old and recently had her first League match
- Roger Wheeler for his ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tennis Award’ from Wiltshire Tennis. Roger was instrumental in the development of the new club site in 2018 investing his time, energy and commitment to our community of tennis and local people. His work will have a generational impact.
As part of Swindon and Wiltshire Tennis League, we are part of action to reduce carbon footprint from travel 180 trees were bought through Tree Nation (now totalling 849 trees), which are due to offset 18 tonnes of CO2 in their lifetime.
