• COACHING: Saturday mornings, during term, starting 10 Jan 2026 for 11 weeks (excluding half-term 21 Feb):
  • 09.00-10.00am: 9-15 yrs old
  • 10:00-11.00am: 4-8 yrs old

• THE "Super green strollers" restart (weather permitting) Mon 5 Jan 10.30 to 11.30am, lead by Tony Wilkinson - walking tennis rules and balls for those a little less mobile including returning from injury - free to club members. 

Diary Dates:

• AGM Thursday 19 March 7pm at the Club House
• OPEN DAY Sunday 10th May 10:00am-4.00pm. Everyone welcome to come along and play for free, meet current members and enjoy a discount if you decide to join on the day. Our coach will also be on hand to answer any queries. Refreshments available. 
• CLUB NIGHTS START ON Wednesdays from 5.30pm, INITIALLY ON THE HARD COURT ideally April 2026 THEN GRASS COURTS from 6.00pm early May (dates TBC )
• CAR BOOT SALE (ON THE SEVERALS) Sunday 14 June - so we'll be looking for helpers plus (nearer the time) items for our pitch.

Club introduction:

Newmarket URC Tennis Club (NUTC) is a small, friendly tennis club established in 1947, nearly 80 years ago. It is situated in a quiet secluded garden setting about 1 mile from the centre of town. 

We play all year round on our all-season hard court and our three beautiful grass courts are used from 1st May until October, weather permitting.  In the summer months players are encouraged to come along to our weekly club nights on Wednesdays from 6pm, our weekday afternoon groups and to compete in a number of fun doubles and singles tournaments. We also run teams in the Cambridge Business House Leagues.

Boasting a well-equipped clubhouse, this provides all the comfortable and modern facilities that a tennis club needs, including disabled access.  Our club welcomes all members of the community and provides the opportunity to play tennis and socialise in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Coaching is available, both individually and in groups for juniors and adults keen to improve their skills. Please check the coaching page for other sessions such as using the ball machine for practice (which we are looking to make available).

The courts can be booked by non-members for £10 an hour and on other occassions can register on a guest fee basis at £5.00 per person per session - or why not join and become a member of a friendly sociable club. We also welcome local schools and community groups to use our facilities.
