Edd Whetton - Head Coach - LTA Development Coach of The Year 2022. Leicstershire and Regional winner, National runner up.
Edd has been head coach at Syston Northfields tennis club since 2013 and has developed the coaching programme greatly in this time. In his junior days, Edd represented Leicestershire at every age group from 12&U to 18&U.
Edd has a lot of experience in disability and inclusive tennis having coached at the Tokyo 2020 olympic talent ID day for wheelchair tennis; been selected by the Tennis Foundation and LTA to run sessions for injured servicemen and coached at several disability festivals around the country. Edd coaches many county level junior players and has experience coaching all ages and abilities.

James Partridge - Club Coach
James has been a member of the club since 2003 and has been a regular for the 1st and 2nd men’s teams during this time. He has been playing tennis since the age of 8 and was part of the Leicestershire County Junior squad. He has lots of experience working with children having been a PE teacher at a local secondary school for over 20 years. He is now putting his experience and passion towards his tennis coaching and has been coaching at the club for the past 3 years.
Mytch Briars - Club Coach
Mytch has been playing tennis since the age of 4 and has competed in junior leagues and also made a debut for the mens teams in 2019 and is now a regular first team player.
Mytch started volunteering at the age of 11 and in 2019/2020 won Hinckley and Bosworth Volunteer of The Year award. In 2021 he undertook his level one and passed it in the July of that year.
Mytch is now a level 2 coach and is pursuing his dream of tennis coaching. Mytch will be taking his level 3 qualification as soon as possible.
Betsy Williams - Club Coach
Betsy has been playing at Syston Northfields Tennis Club since the age of 3, and is a regular Ladies first team player. She is currently studying Sport Science at NTU, while competing in the BUCS match’s for the Ladies first team.
Betsy has been part of the coaching team since 2018. She looks to gain more responsibility within the club now she has gained her level 2
