Wigston Tennis Club is run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to keep the club running smoothly — from maintaining our courts to organising matches, events and social activities.

Club Officers

Chairman – Michael Collins
The Chair leads the committee, ensuring the club’s direction aligns with our values and goals — fostering a friendly, inclusive and active tennis community.

Vice-Chairman - George Carter

George supports the Chair with the running of the club.

Treasurer – Dave Merriman - Responsible for managing club finances, ensuring Wigston Tennis Club continues to grow sustainably.

Club Secretary – James Gay
James oversees the day-to-day running of the club, including membership and general administration.

Welfare Officer - James Crosby

James ensures the club provides a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, particularly juniors and vulnerable adults.

Match Secretary - Ann Halford

Ann organises and schedules matches for both mens and ladies teams for the Summer and Winter schedules

Club Captain - Chris Newitt

Chris is Mens first team captain and helps other team captains with tennis and team related decisions. 

Social Secretary - Stuart Townsend

Stuart helps organise and manage the club social calendar and with overall club maintenance matters

Social Media & Communications - Daren Kirkup

Daren looks after club Social channels, website and in-season match reporting.
