This year marked the 10th edition of the Magdalen Park Trioracketathon, and it was easily one of the best yet. What started as a fun idea a decade ago has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the club calendar, welcoming players of all standards for a day of light-hearted competition and serious fun. Whether you’re a seasoned regular or brand new to the club, the Trioracketathon is all about getting stuck in, trying something new, and enjoying the energy of the day.
Players are grouped into teams and compete across three fast-paced events: Pickleball, Touch Tennis, and Table Tennis. Each format brings its own chaos and charm, levelling the playing field and giving everyone a chance to shine.
This year, the stakes were higher than ever with some genuinely coveted prizes up for grabs - not to mention the pure glory and bragging rights that come with a Trioracketathon win. Well done to Poppy King, Ed Hamilton-Hill, Joey, and Finlay Gliddon for Taking home the title!
The event was, as always, brilliantly run by our social secretary Sam Lutonstanski, who somehow manages to keep everything running smoothly while also keeping the mood high and the games moving. With matches taking place across the club, the atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish-full of laughter, friendly rivalry, and plenty of sideline cheering.
Of course, no Magdalen Park event would be complete without a generous serving of Pimms and a great social vibe throughout the day. Whether you were competing, supporting, or just there for the fun, the 10th Trioracketathon was a brilliant reminder of what makes this club so special: great people, a bit of healthy competition, and a lot of good laughs. Here's to the next ten years!
