Coronavirus (COVID-19) update 1 June 2020

The LTA made an announcement on Sunday 31st May further easing lockdown measures. 

The MPLTC Board have reviewed this and are pleased to provide you an update. 

All restriction easing takes into account advice provided by Government and the LTA

 

Key summary of changes

  • Singles and doubles with different households allowed
  • We are extending the opening hours of the club from 8:30am to 10pm and these are available to book from now
  • Lights will be made available for free when required
  • Group coaching for up to 6 people permitted (including the coach)
  • Bar will be periodically reopen

Full update 

  • Singles and doubles with different households allowed
  • Clean equipment after use
  • Group coaching for up to 6 people permitted (including the coach)
  • Clubhouse remains closed - toilets may be accessed 
  • Courts will shortly be playable to 10pm - 8.30pm-10pm will be reopened for bookings 
  • Social tennis - we are looking into how this could work - no change at this time
  • Outdoor areas - patio is now open, and the bowling green (closest to court 7) may be used

  • Please remember that at the moment we are not allowing any guests at this time - if your guest is keen to play, and is considering joining MPLTC, please visit the website for more information.
  • If you book a court make sure you make use of it - if you fail to turn up for a court you will receive a warning and then a 1 week suspension

Bar opening hours

Monday - Friday 

  • Bar opens 8.30pm-10pm
  • Premises are locked up at 10.30pm
  • Members may buy balls and take-away soft drinks in this time

 

Saturday - Sunday 

  • Bar opens 12pm-8pm 
  • Selling soft drinks and balls
  • Premises are locked up at 10.30pm
