Pickleball

If a combination of Tennis and Ping-Pong with a dash of Badminton sounds like loads of fun.. it’s time for you to hit the Pickleball court!

We’re excited to announce that Pickleball is now available at Sport in Desford!!

We have marked out 2 Pickleball courts (with red lines) on the MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) at the front of the SiD site. Pickleball is a shortened version of tennis, using the normal tennis net, special bats and airflow balls. We have provided 4 bats and 6 balls in a toolbox just inside the MUGA for free use (please return after use!)

The MUGA courts can be booked by the general public by going onto the Desford Tennis website, scrolling down and clicking on "view online booking sheet" (for tennis or pickleball). You need to pay £5 for an hour and the online system will provide you with a 4 digit code that will last for the hour you have booked. Pickleball is typically played as doubles and the rules are similar to tennis with a few adaptations, You can  access a copy of the basic rules @ https://www.pickleballengland.org/rules/ or at https://www.lta.org.uk/play/ways-to-play/pickleball/how-to-get-started-playing-pickleball/
