Gary's report with the results of the 2023 Club Championships. Thanks to him for the brilliant organisation and to all those who took part and made this event such a success.

Hi everyone!

Here I am with the final Club Singles Championships Report for this year................

It all started back in July, back when the sun shined every day (actually,  scrub that last bit!). That was the round of 64, and on we went  into August and the last 32, 16 and quarters. There had been some great matches already, and players were getting to meet and play against players perhaps they'd never come across before. Matches were getting tight now as we got down to the last 4 in both events and playing for a place in the final. And so, we ended up with our very own fab 4.... Julie, Petra, Tom and David in the finals which started 2 weeks ago and only finished today ( perhaps some kind of record!?). And after more than 50 matches across the 2 events and more than 90 players on the start line, our champions were Julie Saxton and David Lake, and our runners up were Petra Sutton and Tom Evans. Ladies score - 7/5, 6/1 and Gents 7/6, 6/3. Thanks guys for 2 great matches, many congrats Julie and David and we'll done Petra and Tom. And finally, congrats to all players who were in the draw, you all played your part in 2 great events and thank you to everyone who helped along the way! More events next year as we add men's, ladies and mixed doubles and junior events to the list!!
