Club Tournament

2024 Club Tournament

The club tournament ran from July to Finals Weekend on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September.

Nine events were played for:

Men's open singles
Men's open doubles
Women's open doubles
Mixed open doubles
Men's veterans (over 55) open doubles
Men's handicap singles
Men's handicap doubles
Women's handicap doubles
Mixed handicap doubles

All of the events except for the men's singles, which was a straight knock-out, consisted of round robin matches, with the top two finishers going straight through to the final on Finals Weekend. Players arranged the preliminary matches amongst themselves, and thankfully there was no mad rush to play games in the days leading up to the finals.

2023 Club Tournament

The club tournament ran from July to Finals Weekend on 16th-17th September, and beyond (for matches not played during Finals Weekend for one reason or another).

Ten events were played for:

Mixed open doubles
Men's veterans (over 55) open doubles
Men's handicap singles
Men's handicap doubles
Women's handicap doubles
Mixed handicap doubles

The majority of events consisted of round robin matches, with the top two finishers going straight to the final on Finals Weekend (apart from Mixed Open Doubles, where semi-finals took place). Players arranged the preliminary matches amongst themselves, with milestones being set so that events progress steadily towards the final, without there being a mad rush to play games in September.
