DLTC CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 DAY 3 & 4

DLTC CHAMPIONSHIP - DAY 3

Another 16 matches were played on the first Monday of the Club Champs and the drama was high as ever!

Former club champ Lawrence Potter came out of the woodwork to beat 16th seed Francis Truss 6-3, 6-4. When your name's already on the board, you ooze a composure only champions know!

There were also wins for Martyn Richards, Conor Mcquistin, Freddie Petch and Christopher Smith in the Mens Singles.

In the match of the night, Olivier Montfort, whose son Emeric is playing with Head Coach Seb in the Doubles, beat an under-the-weather David Bennington in a three-set classic. So long did their match last, they had to change to courts with lights on, despite starting at 7pm!

Well done to Jane and Susie who downed Isobel and Georgie in the Ladies Doubles, and a big well done to Tabitha Jones, who held her nerve to beat new member Petra Ekas in the Ladies Singles (via a Champs Tie-Break!).

Marcio and Joshua played a very entertaining singles on the show court to close the night.

Also, big shout for the juniors who started yesterday with wins for Pierre, Nikhil and Casper.
The latter had to battle very hard against a brave Louis to snatch victory at the death.

Matt and Sue manned the bbq and the gnocchi was exceptional. The food has been as good as the tennis so far - Ben Rayment will be providing his culinary expertise this Tuesday evening.

Come along for more great food, weather and tennis.

Come down today (Tuesday) for Ben's BBQ night and give an all-star cast a great cheerful support :)

We look forward to seeing a big crowd.
