Competitions at St John's

Ipswich and District Leagues
St Johns enters teams in the Ipswich and District Summer and Winter Leagues, and the Felixstowe, Ipswich and District Floodlit League organised through Suffolk Tennis. All league competitions are doubles competitions, and typically there are 5 teams in each division. Every team plays every other team, home and away.
Summer League
Summer league teams are made up of 3 pairs; each will play 1 long set (8 games) each of the 3 pairs from the opposing team. Games are usually played during the week with a 6.30pm start time.
We currently have 7 teams playing in ladies, mens and mixed leagues. For fixtures see Summer League Fixtures.
Winter League
Winter league teams are made up of just 1 pair (but we have more than one team). Each match is played over 3 sets and they are usually played on a Sunday morning with a 10.30am start time.
Winter league has finished for 2025/26, results will be posted shortly.
Floodlit League
Floodlist league teams are made up of 2 pairs; each will play 2 sets against both of the opposing pairs. Games are usually played during the week with a 6.30pm start time.
