Schools tournament reminder – Wednesday 8th / 22nd May
Just a reminder that the primary schools tournaments are using the courts on Wednesday 8th May 9.30-3.30pm and Wednesday 22nd May 9.30-2.30pm.
Club night and Men’s 1st team BBQ – Friday 10th May
The men’s 1st team will play their first home match of the season on Friday 10th May 6.15pm. There will be a BBQ put on with the bar being open throughout the evening. Club night will also be on – so a great chance to play, support and socialise!
Social Fun Tournament – Saturday 11th May
The next Social Fun tournament will take place on 11th May at 5pm. Cost is £5 per person including supper afterwards. If you would like to play please contact Mike Drinkwater 07818891895.
Men’s doubles training session – Sunday 12th May
We are holding a second men’s doubles training session with Alex on Sunday 12th May 5.30-7pm, if you would like to book your place please contact Chris on 07801 312389. £3 per person.
Charity Open Day – Saturday 22 June – 12 noon – 8pm
As we approach this event, we would like to ask for support from members and friends for the following:
1. Raffle/Silent Auction - we are looking for prizes for both of these – we would welcome prizes or vouchers which we can offer days out, meals, event tickets - anything of that nature would be fabulous. Please do try any work or social contacts who may be able to offer these and let us know.
2. Promotion - any method of promoting the day amongst your work or social network would be great fully received and any organisations you have links with locally. We will be creating a poster and if you would like a copy then please let Chris know cdh.crew@ntlworld.com
3. Stall holders - as well as tennis and fun events we also propose to have a small number of stalls and if you can help or would like to arrange please contact Lisa whpole@btinternet.com or Gill gsrussell22@gmail.com
4. On the day - with a wide range of activities on offer we would appreciate any physical support you or your family can give - even if it’s only for an hour or so, please let us know.

Janet’s Jolly Night – Friday 5th July
Janet Hall would like to invite adult members to join her for drinks after club night on Friday 5th July. Come along to meet friends old and new - Wimbledon will be on and nibbles provided!
Men’s Team Update
A great start from both our Burton Men’s teams this week in their home matches with victories for both A and B teams despite some inclement weather!
Congratulations to Will, Alec, Steve and Alistair in the B team and Nick, Wayne, Peter and Dave for the A team.
Ladies’ Team Update
We require extra players for the Vets 2 Ladies - these are players over the age of 40 and the play is in division 5. Please feel free to contact Gill if you would like to volunteer to play or talk about what it entails! gillmathias@hotmail.co.uk 07802 261734.
