We are celebrating success at the recent Tennis Leicestershire Awards Evening at the Tigers ground where Leon Smith, The British Davis Cup Captain was the guest and our club was well represented.

Awards were presented to our Mixed Summer League Group 4 winners and our Mens Winter Group 6. Our mens 1st team gained promotion to the premier league so a great opportunity for locals to watch some quality tennis this summer.

The club were also honoured to receive two special awards selected from the fifty plus clubs in the county. Both these winners go through for selection for Regional Awards.

Young Volunteer Award (2nd Year)  - Jordan Edwards.
Extracts from Jordan’s citation read as follows:-
Jordan runs the Leicestershire Mini Tennis Leagues all year, for which he organises the schedule, players, parents and  teams. He has become the well respected and liked face of Mini Tennis in the county. Jordan has also completed his referees training and is a big help with our club juniors in many ways.

Helen has been involved with the chub for 44 years and has served on the committee for most of those. She has done every role except treasurer! She has seen the club grow from occasional use of two school courts to in 2002 moving to new facilities with 6 floodlit courts and 200 members. Helen was the chair and driving force behind the £300,000 project to relocate to our current site.
Helen set up a schools coaching programme for our 7 local primary schools which is still running ten years later.
Helen qualified as a coach in order to help club coach Nick Rose develop our players especially juniors and has engaged with everyone to promote tennis in the community.
An excellent player for the club for 44 years, she has been Ladies Singles, Doubles and Mixed champion on many occasions and captained the Ladies Teams.
Helen finally retired from the committee in October 2017, but remains as a Trustee. She deserves recognition for the amazing contribution she has made to her community through Market Bosworth Tennis Club.
