Launch Day Events
The launch was well attended by adults and children alike
This picture below is from the tennis club in 1930s, when it was at Portland Place. The young child on his Mum’s knee, on the right, is Sidney Tyson, who now plays at the bowling club next to our new home in Castle Park. Sidney’s dad played tennis as did he when he was older. He recalls at that time all the grass courts that there once were in Penrith. 
Large numbers of people turned out to see the courts officially opened at Castle Park below.
